If you've ever seen one of those lists of "the hundred most difficult videogames", chances are that the game with the #1 ranking is called "Super Meat Boy". It is infamously difficult, but it's also not for everyone. Luckily, there are many other games out there to satisfy gamers who want a more casual experience — and we're going to show you where they are! Check out our blog post and find your new favorite game. Some of the games we list below are not as high-profile as "Super Meat Boy", but still very challenging and unrivaled by some other games. We're talking about the indie scene: the front lines of new and interesting game design. We've already written a project about this: our first article, on the subject of independent gaming, contains a list of some great indie titles that we really believe anyone can enjoy. This is our second article on that subject — and this time, we're limiting it to one specific genre. And what genre would be more fitting than... rhythm games?! And what game would better represent the very genre than... our game? WARNING: The following article contains SPOILERS for "Badland" and "Sidekicks"! Read at your own risk! The fact that our game is rhythm-based might be expected right away, but there are plenty of other rhythm games out there that are also quite challenging. Some of these are very well-known. "Super Guitar Star" was even published by Disney Interactive Studios years ago! But not only are there indie-style developers out there who know how to make an addictive arcade rhythm game, there's also a high number of old classics that you might never have seen before. So let us present you with our list of the TOP FIVE most difficult classic rhythm games. As usual, we're keeping it in alphabetical order. This game features simple gameplay: there's a cute little monster called Ugo, and he wants to get back home. To reach his goal, he must join forces with Angela, another cute monster who happens to be a master archer. Together, they'll make their way through about twenty different levels. Sound easy? It's not! You see, Ugo is incapable of jumping on his own — he needs Angela to do it for him by shooting him up into the air! This is not only very challenging but maddeningly addictive. "River City Ransom" is a well-known dating sim by Atlus, one of Japan's most respected video game developers. The franchise is usually considered a parody of the role-playing genre, but "River City Ransom – Underground" incorporates it rather successfully. While playing as a high school student named Matt Hooper, you'll have to face off against an army of criminals led by the seductive officer Nina. The gameplay consists entirely of card games that take place in a comic book environment, and each stage will have its cards based on different topics from romance to shopping. eccc085e13
